
Rocky Mountain Deaf School Announces Director Finalist
The Rocky Mountain Deaf School Board of Directors is pleased to announce the finalist for the position of School Director of RMDS.
In the search for the Director of RMDS, a search committee was established, composed of teachers, parents, community members, and school administrative members. The search committee accepted applications until February 15th, 2023, at which time the position closed. After reviewing all of the applications, the committee nominated a single candidate from the pool of applicants.
The RMDS Board is pleased to announce Eileen Kratzer as the sole finalist for RMDS Director. Ms. Kratzer has over 25 years of experience as an educator and administrator. She began her career as a Teacher of the Deaf at Denver Public Schools, and in 2000 started her journey at the Rocky Mountain Deaf School as an elementary teacher. She later transitioned to Reading Specialist, Assistant Principal, and is currently serving as Interim Director. Ms. Kratzer has a long history of working with charter schools, including serving as the President of the Board at both Compass Montessori School and Rocky Mountain Deaf School.
Ms. Kratzer obtained her master's degree from Gallaudet University and her Principal’s certification from the University of Colorado, Denver. She holds both a teaching license and a principal’s license in the state of Colorado.
Ms. Kratzer’s goal is to work collaboratively with professionals within the state of Colorado to continue to grow Rocky Mountain Deaf School. She believes that a strong leader is inclusive, collaborative and supportive of students, staff, families and community. Ms. Kratzer cherishes the RMDS community and is committed to making sure the school continues to thrive with its values of continuous innovation, high expectations, family atmosphere, teamwork, equity and zest.
